Binance listing fee drama goes nuclear

Binance’s help desk has deleted what it called an “excessive” response to a tweet from Limitless Labs CEO CJ Hetherington after he claimed that it attempted to charge him 8% of his Limitless supply, along with $2.45 million in extra payments, to list the token on the exchange. Hetherington, who runs Limitless on Coinbase’s Base, also suggested that Binance, and its favorite founders and affiliates, were dumping on users. In its response, Binance’s help desk fired back, calling Hetherington’s allegations “false and defamatory,” and claiming “Binance does not charge listing fees.”  offer from @binance: > 1% airdrop on day 1, alpha listing > 3% further airdrops in 6 months > 1% for "marketing" at Binance full discretion > provide 100% of TVL for token pool on Pancake Swap ($1M+) > $250k security deposit > 3% reserved for BNB HODLer programme > $200k… — CJ (@cjhtech) October 14, 2025 Hetherington says he didn...

How BSC Fits Into Binance’s Overall Strategy

Here’s a 200-word article on How BSC fits into Binance’s overall strategy : How BSC Fits into Binance’s Overall Strategy The BNB Smart Chain (BSC) is a pivotal component of Binance’s long-term vision to build a comprehensive digital asset ecosystem beyond just exchange services. Launched in 2020, BSC provides a high-performance, low-cost blockchain infrastructure tailored for decentralized applications (dApps), DeFi, NFTs, and emerging sectors like DePIN. BSC allows Binance to expand its influence from being the world’s leading centralized exchange into a full-fledged blockchain ecosystem. By offering developers an EVM-compatible platform with faster block times and lower fees than Ethereum, Binance attracts a thriving community of builders and users. This helps drive demand for BNB, which plays multiple roles across the ecosystem: paying gas fees, participating in governance, and securing the network through delegated staking. Strategically, BSC also reduces Binance’s dependence on th...

Binance says the trio of assets will be added with a seed tag, which warns investors that they may display higher levels of volatility compared to other digital assets. “ONDO, BIGTIME, and VIRTUAL are relatively new tokens that pose a higher than normal risk, and will likely be subject to high price volatility. Users must exercise sufficient risk management and DYOR (do your own research) to fully understand the projects before opting to trade the tokens. Seed tags represent innovative projects that may exhibit higher ...

Did Binance enable JELLYJELLY leveraged trade against Hyperliquid?

An apparent multi-million dollar trade gone wrong on the Hyperliquid derivatives exchange saw a JELLYJELLY memecoin trader lose millions, gain it all back, and then give it all away again. Onlookers to the topsy-turvy David v Goliath battle with the exchange’s liquidity provider were enthralled as the trader opened a leveraged position and removed liquidity from its own account in order to increase its leverage ratio even higher. With margin reaching nose-bleeding territory, even the smallest fluctuation in price would force a liquidation. It duly did. With a slight wick in price, the trader’s memecoin transferred to an experienced Hyperliquid market-maker, a so-called Hyperliquidity Provider (HLP) . Seemingly down millions of dollars, the trader then executed the next leg of the trade. Knowing that JELLYJELLY was a particularly small and thinly traded memecoin, and armed with the ability to arbitrage its price cross-exchange via a newly-announced 25X perpetuals ...

Binance Launchpool Announces Support for New Native Token of Decentralized Fiat Stablecoin Issuer

Binance, the top global crypto exchange by trading volume, is rolling out support for the new native token of a decentralized fiat stablecoin issuer. Binance Launchpool, which lets users stake coins to farm new assets, says its 61st project will be Usual, a stablecoin issuer that aims to redistribute protocol ownership and governance through its native USUAL token. Explains the project, “Unlike Tether and Circle, which generated over $10B in 2023 without sharing wealth with users, Usual ensures equitable distribution of generated value. By integrating Real-World Assets directly into DeFi, Usual provides a more secure, transparent, and decentralized alternative that aligns with the principles of decentralized finance. Additionally, Usual empowers users to become true owners of the protocol. This is achieved by allowing them to control the infrastructure, treasury, and governance through the governance token.” The protocol already issues Usual USD (USD...

Tether has record profits but has stopped purchasing bitcoin

Tether has released its most recent attestation, which claims record profits of $5.2 billion for the first half of 2024. However, a close review of the attestations shows that Tether ’s purchases of bitcoin seem to have been paused . For context, in May 2023, Tether announced its intention to “regularly allocate up to 15% of its net realized operating profits towards purchasing Bitcoin.” It further noted that these investments would “not exceed the Shareholder Capital Cushion” which has reached a total of almost $12 billion, however, the total amount of bitcoin on hand is less than $5 billion. Closely reviewing the attestations seems to suggest that Tether has not increased its quantity of bitcoin since its last attestation three months ago, despite these record profits .  This can be further confirmed by checking bc1qjasf9z3h7w3jspkhtgatgpyvvzgpa2wwd2lr0eh5tx44reyn2k7sfc27a4, the address that The Block has previously identified as where Tether w...

Binance US cut 200 jobs and lost 75% revenue after SEC's 'near-mortal blow'

Binance US reportedly cut more than 200 jobs last year after it was dealt a ‘near-mortal blow’ when a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) lawsuit accused it of wash trading, diverting regulatory attention, and offering unregistered securities.  In the wake of the lawsuit, the company reportedly suffered a 75% plunge in revenue and is struggling to find new banking partners after losing two already. In addition, the exchange reportedly has fewer than five market makers after previously being partnered with 20.   The revelations were revealed in a deposition shared on Tuesday in which Christopher Blodgett, the COO of Binance.US arm BAM trading, is recorded giving witness statements. Hong Kong bans two more crypto sites for misleading investors

Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has blacklisted two Crypto web sites accused of scamming investors and lying about executives, following criticism that the agency reacted too slowly to the recent JPEX scandal. According to SFC director of enforcement Cheng Tak-ka, both BitCuped and HongKongDAO were placed on an alert list on November 10 and 24 respectively. As reported by the South China Morning Post, both crypto sites attempted to attract investors with misleading claims. The SFC says it was tipped off by an anonymous source that HongKongDAO falsely claimed to have applied for the relevant operating licenses. It also led investors to believe its native token had a high market value. HongKongDAO sold HKD through two group chats, one for 10,000 Chinese-speaking members and another that served 1,700 in English. Circle emphasizes that Justin Sun is not sanctioned... yet | Protos

Image
Circle chief strategy officer (CSO) Dante Disparte wrote a letter to Senators Sherrod Brown and Elizabeth Warren in response to claims surrounding the role of Circle in facilitating Hamas and other actors. In the letter, Circle makes sure to highlight two things: “Circle does not facilitate, directly or indirectly, or finance Hamas… Nor does Circle bank Justin Sun.”  On Justin Sun, Circle said that “Neither Mr. Sun nor any entity owned or controlled by Mr. Sun, including the TRON Foundation or Huobi Global, currently have accounts with Circle. To date, the U.S. government has not specifically designated Mr. Sun or his entities as Specially Designated Nationals. Nonetheless, Circle terminated all accounts held by Mr. Sun and his affiliated companies in February 2023.” This seems to imply that Circle did serve Justin Sun or his companies up until February 2023 . Sun is a very important figure in the stablecoin ecosystem, receiving more Tether than any ot...
