BlackRock’s IBIT sets record $1.1 billion in daily inflows

Tether has record profits but has stopped purchasing bitcoin

Tether has released its most recent attestation, which claims record profits of $5.2 billion for the first half of 2024. However, a close review of the attestations shows that Tether ’s purchases of bitcoin seem to have been paused . For context, in May 2023, Tether announced its intention to “regularly allocate up to 15% of its net realized operating profits towards purchasing Bitcoin.” It further noted that these investments would “not exceed the Shareholder Capital Cushion” which has reached a total of almost $12 billion, however, the total amount of bitcoin on hand is less than $5 billion. Interest for ‘Onchain’ term on Google hits record high in May

Interest in the term “onchain” surged to an all-time high, according to Google Trends data. This spike underscores the growing engagement and curiosity surrounding blockchain and cryptocurrency developments. Over the past five years, global search interest in “onchain” has mostly remained under 25 on a scale of 100, with a brief peak of around 30 in March.  However, between May 26 and June 1, search interest skyrocketed to 100, marking a record high. Bitcoin accumulation addresses near record 800K despite whale selling

Someone has been accumulating BTC throughout the 2022 Bitcoin bear market, and the trend shows no sign of reversing. Bitcoin (BTC) accumulation is nearing a new milestone this Christmas as redistribution of the BTC supply continues. Data from on-chain analytics firm Glassnode shows that the total BTC balance of so-called “accumulation addresses” is nearing all-time highs.
